Here you will find my "typical" pictures, thoughts and ideas and sneak peaks from sessions. I LOVE taking pictures, particularly children. Capturing that perfect moment in time, to last a lifetime is my goal. So, sit back and relax, while reading through my blog, getting to know me and my family, and getting a glimpse of what a session might contain! P.S. I am sure this will also contain an occasional rambling of goings on in my life...enjoy!
Little ones run around and do what they want. They need no instruction, maybe a little directional guidance, like say, "Just don't fall into the water!", and every picture comes out great. It is so easy to capture their little personalities when they can just be themselves. These two kiddos were fabulous to run, chase and play with. I got to pretend to be a Thomas the Train character (of course not Thomas), and got to make a little girl giggle! The best job I tell you!
Thanks P family for your patience in waiting for a few more sneak peeks. I truly had a wonderful time with you and LOVED playing with your beautiful children!
Mr. A was pretending to be Thomas here...he ended up choo-choo-ing himself across the pavement onto the grass and headed down the hill...I am looking forward to Thomas days with my Geebers!
Here is a..."Just don't fall into the water"...direction. I love her expression and that she kept playing in the fountain and getting her hair wet! No worries...mom was right there ready to grab her if she got too close to the edge! :)
That is it for tonight! Had a great session today with a handsome Senior young man (Tom's cousin...who also looks very much like Tom did at that age!) Those sneak peeks will come next week...goodnight and have a great weekend!
If you remember this post, well, this is the sweetie that won! She is a cousin of my husband's (her dad is a first cousin) and Miss S's mom, was thrilled to be able to have this session take place. I pulled in, and it was a SUPER spot for a session! I so very excited, because it also was a session that included Miss S's horse. I had been picturing for weeks different things that I wanted to try, and Miss S had some of the same ideas also to try! I also am always shocked at how much older she looks every time I see her...I started coming around when she was just a tiny one...I think like 2! I also have to add that I am pretty sure it rained everywhere around us, while the session was taking place...I was so very thankful!
Here are just a quick two of Miss S and Missy...S...this one is for you...I know how much you wanted this one to turn out...I am beyond thrilled with it! :) Haven't dug into the one where you were standing on her back yet!
More from the session of the cuties A and L from last week...those should be posted later tonight...you know, when I am up into the middle of the night because of a good late evening run and my energy is booming.
Also, stay tuned, because I will be announcing a great, super fun, mini-session special that you won't want to miss out on!!!!
...and praying for this family. Please pray for sweet little Stellan. I have followed this blog since last summer...you can read all about it, or just say a small prayer for Stellan and his heart.
Thursday already? And actually, technically, it is seriously FRIDAY! (I started this last night) My week has flown by, and the weekend is here again! My apologies to the "T" family for the delay in sneak peeks! Thanks for your patience!
Last Saturday, I had the pleasure of capturing somewhat of a family reunion. An old friend that I used to work with when I was in college (my job to help pay some of my way) called last week and said that she was hoping to get a large family picture. Of course I told her that I have NEVER done a group so large, and I was a little intimidated, but she was a great encouragement, and I couldn't turn her down. So, the Queen and her Princes (6 to be exact) and their families with children and grandchildren met at Wildwood for a family session of sorts...26 in all!
The Queen took a look around at one point and said, "Hard to believe that I started all of this!" It was so fun to see. Especially being from a large family, I could envision how our families will grow and all the fun that is in store for us!
Anyways, it was quite the group. From an itty bitty one that was kickin' away in one mom's tummy, a little baby 9 months old (sorry if I am wrong on that...but that is what I thought I remembered!), some runners (you know the little ones that don't like to sit still), to bigger ones that just enjoyed hanging out, and then all of the adults. Busy. Fun. My first time with such a large group to photograph.
Now, if I gave out awards for the furthest traveled client, this group would receive it for sure! One of the brothers came all the way from, The Netherlands (Holland) from a quaint town called Alkmaar, about 20-30 miles from Amsterdam. (I quoted that from my friend!) Can you believe they came all the way here for a session with me??? Okay, so I know it was NOT really here for me, but it sure is fun to say that, and it sure is fun to know that I photographed a family from so far away from my home.
Fun morning. Great memories with a great family! Hope you all had a good time, and enjoy the sneak peeks!
Looking at the water and waiting for the whole clan to arrive...
Walking to our destination...that is the Queen all the way on the left.
Isn't this one sweet...
Some of the boys...
The whole group...(click on picture to see it larger)
Sweet.
The little ones from The Netherlands...love it...
The kiddos were treated with suckers after pictures were finished. They were so darn cute sitting and waiting for the adults to finish up. Love the expression of the little one second from the left! :)
Another busy weekend ahead. Hope you have a great one!
So, this session was a bit different than my usual session...it was a 1hr 40 min drive away...well, that is how far it was supposed to be. Friday afternoon, Kiersten came over to watch the kids, and I packed up and headed north for a fun family session. Earlier that day, as I was getting things around, I thought, hmmmm...I really should get her phone number. All of our "talking" had been via email, so I checked through emails and no number. No biggie, it will all be a-ok. I am sure you are seeing the writing on the wall...I needed that phone number, and I was sweating bullets when I figured out that there would be no way to get a hold of H and I really, really, really needed to.
I was going to be LATE...by a large margin.
I didn't start sweating it until I was 8 miles from my exit, and traffic was at a complete stop. When I say complete, I am serious...complete. So I called up myTom-Tom, who by the way is way cheaper than the real GPS Tom-Tom and way cheaper than a German. I was sitting a lane over from an exit, and I am so lucky that I was where I was when I was completely stopped. My Tom-Tom quickly found a path for me on backroads, but then also informed me that I still had another 25 minutes until I would arrive at the lovely M family's home.
Ummmmmm, well, that wasn't good, because I only had 1 minute to be there before I was going to be late. I HATE BEING LATE!
Panicking, I asked my sweetie to send H a quick email to let her know what was going on. As I finished saying goodbye to my love, it started to rain. Complete panic set in and tears welled up not only on my windshield but also in my little ole eyes! Just as I was about to lose it, H called in!!!!!! She had heard of the back up on the expressway and called to see if I needed any help. So sweet. If I could have hugged her at that moment, I probably would have squeezed her to death! It was such a relief to know that she knew I was going to be late, understood about the traffic and was even sweet about the rain. It worked out great, because the half hour that I was stuck in my car, was the half hour that it rained. It cleared up a few minutes after arriving, and the session was a total success! I gave a big hug to H, and was on my way. Unfortunately, the expressway was STILL closed, so I had to call up my Tom-Tom again, and we figured out a better way to get home!
It was a great night, and here are a few pictures of the super cute family! Oh yes, and this beautiful setting. was their own yard! It worked out PERFECT! :)
Well, mostly Mr. L! This is what happened when we tried to get the three cousins together...no one was happy. Miss C was so tired, Mr. E. didn't want any pictures, and Mr. L, he was a little tired also. He ended up falling asleep, which was fun because we got a few sleepy shots, and when he woke up he was ready to smile. :) It was a fun afternoon, and I am so glad that I had the opportunity to capture D with Mr. L. They were here all the way from Alabama. I think that is my furthest traveled client yet...well, until Saturday that is...but you will have to wait to find out where they are from! :) Have a great day! Oh yes, Geebers is weighing in at 18 lbs on the nose! He is 50th percentile all around...a well rounded healthy little one for sure!
Geebers turned 6 months old last week. Here are a few of him a few days before his 6 month birthday. Ummmm, yes, he is adorable, squishy, giggly, smiley, so sweet and the best little baby ever...so you should be jealous! ;) His biggest milestone right now is rolling over, he is working on sitting, he loves jumping in his jumpy seat (seriously LOVES it), working on getting teeth, and he entertains us all. Ooooo, I love him!
These were taken in our bedroom on our bed...I love my room and my chocolate wall and bedding! :)
Bean picked out this shirt for Geebers...and I think it is very fitting. I told my husband that I would like to find one for him...both my men are AMAZING!
I love this one...soft light, little bum and of course cute feet!
Had a super cute session today, and have many coming up in the next couple weeks, so stay tuned for updates! And, I will also have some shots from our mini-vacation up north this weekend. Bean cried for 35 minutes last night in her bed because she wanted to be at vacation...just tells you we all had a blast!
My lab is running a discount on large prints, 16 x 20 and up...and I am extending the discount to YOU! If you have had a past session, and would like to order large prints, you can receive 20% off of your large prints. Please let me know if you are interested via email, and I will make sure that the discount is extended to you! :) This deal ends July 15th. :)
Hope you had a great 4th. We had a lovely celebration with my family...all weekend long! Lucas was in town as well as my brother and his wife and daughter. It was great seeing everyone, and we loved getting to spend so much time with Lucas. Miss him much, but we are hoping to see him again in 6 weeks! :)
