Many of you know that I have been wanting to find a name so suiting for my photo business, but I struggled for quite sometime. I originally started with Captured Moments Photography - Capturing Moments to Last a Lifetime. It was a great name, but I found more inspiration for the name I was searching for. My business is named after my son, Thomas Richard Armstrong. He was delivered at 18.5 weeks pregnant, miscarried November 3rd, 2007. Although those 18 weeks seem short, I felt I knew him, and one thing is for sure, his life has surely changed me. God has been good, through these hardships. One day, I will see my Baby Thomas again. Full of life that I only saw through an ultrasound and felt moving in me. Some days are very tough, but God helps me through. Psalm 38 has been a piece of scripture that is my rock, "God is close the broken hearted..." That is me. So, part of keeping Thomas alive, I named my photography business after him. I feel it is quite appropriate...being that my most favorite subject to photograph are babies. Capturing Moments to Last a Lifetime though, is still my "theme"!
Where my baby, and others babies who have been lost through similar situations, are laid to rest. A beautiful memorial, for so many beautiful babies. My budding photographer took this picture on our way home from our first visit to Thomas' Memorial. She was so excited, and in all honesty, it didn't turn out so bad. The angle of the picture was pretty cool, although, I don't believe she did that on purpose!

I came over from Holly's journal. I think it is wonderful and heartbreaking at the same time - the story behind the name of your business. I am sorry for your loss of Thomas. I do however know Cheryl Haggard, so thank you for promoting her non-profit!
I have just started to get into photography myself after being years of pointing and shooting! I admit to getting sucked in and I am hoping to get a bit of a studio set up, if only to get some good shots of my boys that don't involve shelling out lots of precious cash.
Anyway, I'll be following along - perhaps you would drop by my place and learn abou the non-profit I run - with three small children yourself, I hope it will be useful to learn what we are all about.
